What Happened To R & B Music?
Man oh man do I miss Luther now. Samples and a chant makes the top R & B hit these days? OMG by Usher and Will.I.Am is a fun song and my kids like it but is it like the old Jeffrey Osborne, Peabo or James Ingram. A lot of the old timers must be sick to their stomachs. What do you say Smokey? Michael's gone and Kanye is what we're left with? John Legend's first album was pretty awesome and I really liked D'Angelo's first record before he smoked way too much weed for his second offering then all I had was lost for him. Anita Baker made an embarrassing showing on the National Anthem in the NBA Playoffs. I felt really bad for her and had to walk out of the room. I miss the classics and I know I'm not alone! Best, DW
Logic or Protools?
I've been using Protools since they called it Tools and it was a two track system. Protools is the industry standard in post production sound. It's easy to use and integrates well with other machines, quicktime movies and avid and other picture systems. But.... This week I bought Logic 9 and I'm quite frankly blown away! The sounds are off the hook and it can be customized to use whatever key commands you want to, to edit. Wow is the only word that comes to mind. DW 6-2010
